Talladega County Hall of Heroes
The Hall of Heroes got its start in 2005 when a group of residents led by Mrs. Bobbye Trammell began collecting photos and biographical sketches of Talladega County’s veterans to be displayed in the expansion of the Armstrong/Osborne Public Library. The displays quickly outgrew the space available, and now we sit inside the longtime Wood-Weaver Shoe Building, donated to the town by the late Robert Weaver. This museum contains unique military photographs, biographies, uniforms, artifacts, and equipment from all branches of our armed forces and from every era.
How to Submit A Biography
There is a place in the Hall of Heroes for anyone who has lived or presently lives in Talladega County who has served in the United States Armed Forces during a time of war or conflict. The photo and biography of the veteran will be placed in the hall joining the main Talladega Library and the new addition. The photograph can be of any size and will be copied and returned to the submitter. It is requested that the photo is of the serviceman or woman in uniform and a close-up if possible. There is no charge for an entry; donations will be accepted and appreciated.
Writing your biography is easy, and it takes just a few minutes.
